Roster Movements, Etc., Etc.

Today was the mandatory cut down to 75 players (with the deadline to cut down to the 53 man roster coming later in the week). To trim down the roster the Bears cut the following five players-

Dusty Dvoracek, DT
John Broussard, WR (I have NEVER heard of that guy. Where the heck was he the last month?)
Richmond McGee, P/K
Fontel Mines, TE
Tyler Reed, G (actually they cut Mines and Reed on the 25th, but whose keeping track?)

They also signed veteran cornerback Rod Hood from the Browns, and cut Derek Kinder, the 7th round WR from Pittsburgh to make room for him.

Hood's got 11 career interceptions and started last year for Arizona, who, umm, lost the Superbowl because of their atrocious pass defense. So, woot! Though he's probably better than Trumaine McBride, who should probably be packing his bags after his piss poor showing in Denver the other night.

I'll keep you posted when they make the big cuts later in the week, including my opinion on who should have stayed/been cut.
